"Your art makes me smile!"

I love art.  I have always been surrounded by creative people.  My mother, my sisters, my friends...are all creative souls.  As a little girl, I was fascinated by some of the cool things my mother created - from roosters and chickens made from dried beans to Christmas centerpieces made from spray-painted magazines.  You name it, she could make it.  One of the best "toys" I ever received was a sketch pad.  Then it was on to embroidering on clothing.  For a while, Sunday afternoons were spent painting ceramics.  I dreamed of teaching art education.

But, sometimes life interrupts the plans of little girls.  They fall in love, get married and have families.

Sometimes, life shows you another option for those dreams.  I wanted to stay home with my children and still contribute to the family income.  With encouragement from family and friends, I entered the craft show circuit in 1986.  A while later, I sold items in several consignment and gift shops.  I began teaching painting classes.  I designed pattern packets and eventually designed craft projects for craft booklets and magazines.

The kids are now grown.  My show schedule has now expanded to more shows in more states.

The newest addition to Auntie Reba's family - Baby Cal!!!

I'm not sure what life's next venture will be, but hopefully it will continue to be full of art.     A creative mess is better than idle neatness!
